Job description

Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

Sonic Healthcare USA is looking for an energetic, positive Sales Representative that can build relationships with prospects quickly and be appropriately aggressive in order to close new business consistently each month

As an Account Executive (“AE”) you will be a Liaison between prospects/clients and the laboratory, and will sell Clinical and Anatomic Pathology, Cytology, Molecular and Microbiology laboratory services along with I.T. solutions to prospective Physicians. Your primary responsibility will be to generate new sales for the laboratory by building trust and relationships with physician offices. This is accomplished by clearly outlining the benefits of using our laboratory over the competition.


With the backing of Sonic Healthcare USA and a comprehensive testing menu in clinical, molecular, microbiology and anatomic pathology (which covers all sub-specialties), your focus will be selling and transitioning physicians (i.e. Ob/Gyn’s, Family Practitioners, Internists, Gastroenterologists, Urologists, Dermatologists, etc.) from their existing laboratory to our laboratory.


Other additional expectations are as follows:

  • Prospect accounts in your territory and manage those prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Build relationships within the accounts (M.A.’s, Office Managers, Director of Nursing, Physicians, etc.) and earn the right to capture their business.
  • Partner with Vice President of Sales on closing “big deals”.
  • “Own” your book of business and ensure existing clients are set up properly and taken care of to ensure retention of the new business.
  • Forecast new sales to VP of Sales monthly and manage the setup process with new accounts to ensure a smooth transition from their prior laboratory.
  • Meet or exceed your quota of new business each month.
  • Ensure your clients’ Aging is kept within 60 days and we are receiving all information to bill 3rd parties properly. Any Missing Information must be obtained from clients in a timely manner.
  • Complete administrative paperwork daily in order to ensure the connection between the client and the laboratory is fluid and that there are no gaps in service.
  • Enter all activities and issues into the company CRM system daily.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, treat others with mutual respect, thrive on competition, be professional and have fun selling!
  • Participates in and supports all Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement endeavors for the laboratory, as applicable.
  • Take ownership of self-development. Actively manage your own personal growth by setting goals, identifying areas for improvement, seeking out learning opportunities, and holding yourself accountable for making progress.

    Physical Capabilities:

  • Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.)
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
  • Frequent, prolonged standing/sitting/walking
  • Must be able to see, hear, and respond adequately
  • Extensive computer work
  • Frequent use of telephone and fax
  • Occasional travel required to interact with Division personnel and/or attend meetings, educational training

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 Years of AP or Clinical Laboratory Sales Experience or Account Management in Anatomic Pathology preferred
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word) and remote communication skills (i.e. smart phone)
  • Excellent planning, presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (aligned with the criteria of a Medical Courier).
