What You Will Do:
The Senior Director, Accounting will play a key leadership role within the Finance team, overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. They will lead several high-impact projects, including the implementation of a new ERP system, the launch and accounting infrastructure for a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), and the management of our client accounts team, which oversees custodial bank activity.
In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, this role will be deeply involved in acquisition-related work—supporting purchase price accounting, 805 valuation reports, and the integration of acquired entities into our existing systems and workflows.

The Senior Director, Accounting will help identify opportunities to integrate AI into our processes, increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and drive smarter decision-making across the finance organization. Operational & Financial Oversight
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Maintain and enforce strong internal controls in compliance with GAAP.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
ERP System Implementation
Serve as a key finance lead in the implementation of a new ERP system, working cross-functionally to design, test, and roll out scalable accounting processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems and workflows are properly integrated and scalable.
Partner with IT, FP&A, and department leads to ensure proper system integrations and reporting capabilities.
Oversight of Client Accounts & Custodial Banking
Oversee the Client Accounts team, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of custodial bank activity and client transactions.
Lead the implementation of a scalable reconciliation system to replace manual Excel-based processes, integrating with internal products and supporting high-volume, audit-ready reporting.
Standardize and document all related processes to support current operations and onboarding of future team members Manage the Client Accounts team responsible for monitoring and reconciling custodial bank activity.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Setup & Management
Support the creation and launch of the DAF structure from an accounting and operational standpoint.
Develop processes, controls, and reporting to support DAF compliance and transparency.
Acquisition Accounting & Integration
Manage the financial aspects of acquisition activity, including purchase price accounting (ASC 805), coordination of 805 valuation reports, and onboarding acquired entities into our financial systems.
Ensure seamless integration of new processes, controls, and reporting structures.
AI & Process Innovation Leadership
Act as a champion for AI and automation initiatives within the Finance team.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks through AI tools and technology-driven solutions.
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration
Mentor and lead members of the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with teams across Finance, Legal, IT, and Operations to support organizational goal

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA Certification required.
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including supervisory responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 805 purchase price accounting.
Prior experience with ERP implementation; familiarity with Intacct, Workday, NetSuite, Concur, Adaptive, and Avalara is strongly preferred.
Experience with custodial accounts, client fund management, or DAF structures a plus.
M&A or acquisition integration experience highly desirable.
Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to relate and communicate effectively across all levels of staff inside and outside the department.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, including proactively seeking solutions from internal and external resources.
Skilled at prioritizing work, identifying key requirements, and streamlining processes to drive automation and efficiency.
Compensation
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.
US Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $220,000 w/ 15% annual bonus
