The Opportunity
Root is seeking a Department FP&A Analyst/Sr.Analyst who is a strategic and creative problem solver ready to collaborate with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders.In this role, you will act as the finance lead to our department business partners to assist in financial planning, reporting, and analysis. You will also have the opportunity to establish best business practices for financial operations, budget development and management, in-depth ad hoc analysis, and strategic capital deployment. This individual contributor should be highly analytical, strategic, and process oriented, who will bring financial recommendations, backed by data to the team.The perfect candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally with business teams to guide and support our business partners throughout the financial planning, reporting, and analysis lifecycle.

Salary Range: $80,000
How You Will Make an Impact
Partner cross-functionally to help translate company strategies to financial success.
Establish strong partnerships with department heads and perform financial analysis that aids them in the decision-making process.
Maintain working knowledge of Root financial systems, models, policies, and processes. Support automation efforts to leverage technology and improve model accuracy and efficiency.
Partner with internal stakeholders in the execution of annual business planning and quarterly forecasting processes. Collect, consolidate, analyze, and perform financial modeling to support planning and forecast cycles.
Perform data driven variance and trend analysis for core KPIs using actual and forecasted data. Partner with other teams to perform root-cause analysis.
Support continuous improvement opportunities throughout the financial planning, reporting, and analysis lifecycle and processes.
Perform other ad hoc analysis as needed in support of strategic initiatives.
What You Will Need to Succeed
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields is preferred.
2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related fields. Experience in the Insurance industry is preferred.
Extensive experience working with sophisticated financial models, in Excel or other planning applications (Oracle NetSuite/Smartview, etc.) is preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal required.
Approaches problem solving with natural curiosity, open-mindedness, and comfort with ambiguity.
Thrives in a fast-paced work environment, prioritizing, and executing on the most critical project.
