Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Technology Partner, the IT Director - Technology creates and executes technology strategies that align with firm strategy. This position provides technology governance, drives value add initiatives for the business and IT, and manages all activities related to performance coaching, leadership, planning, & budgeting, in accordance with firm policies and procedures.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accountable for on-site and cloud technology performance and usage. Oversees technology user experience, adoption, and processes including discovery, build, test, communication, and launch.
  • Collaborates with technology leaders and cross-functional teams to understand firm challenges and objectives to determine how technology can address It
  • Leads the evaluation of core technologies to identify value and potential impact on accounting, tax, and advisory services and publishes technology strategy documentation and road maps
  • Identifies opportunities to advance technology to enhance productivity, streamline operations, and drive cost efficiencies across the firm
  • Develops strategic recommendations and business cases for implementing technology solutions, outlining potential benefits, risks, and implementation plans
  • Researches and analyzes market trends, best practices, and technological advancements to stay updated on emerging solutions and potential technologies
  • Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and ethical considerations related to the use of emerging technologies and ensure compliance within the firm
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance regarding the effective adopting, utilization, and governance of emerging technologies.
  • Prepares and manages the budget process for technology including new purchases, renewals, and related contract negotiation
  • Manages the overall recruitment, engagement, development and retention of US and India-based IT associates aligned with applications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Finance or Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A master’s degree in information technology or business preferred
  • 15+ years of job-related experience
  • Experience leading teams of managers towards successful outcomes, building strategic plans and road maps, and managing budgets to achieve financial goals and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and key stakeholders by presenting compelling arguments and insights, and plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
  • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously, work under pressure and time deadlines, and analyze data to recommend solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to direct and organize key team members through proactive planning.
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and approach opportunities in a flexible and creative manner.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $142,000 to $191,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
