Job description

This is a remote position.

ROLE: SOCIAL & COMMUNICATIONS MARKETER
A Social & Communications Marketer for up to 25 hours per week to help us grow and engage audiences
across our digital channels. This role would use Slack, Canva, Mailchimp, Google Suite, Monday.com,
Zoom, Wix, Snowflake, Airtable, Stripe, LinkedIn, Meta, and Eventbrite (ticketing platform).

Schedule

  • 25 hours a week
  • Hours are flexible
  • Can be done over 7 days if the candidate would like
  • Minimum 2 hrs of daily time required, Monday to Friday to ensure social and communication run smoothly across our events.
  • works closely with the Mentor Walks team based in Australia in an AEDT / AEST timezone.

Operating in 17 locations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, and the UAE, the company organizes impactful one-hour walking mentorship events, pairing mentees with accomplished female leaders. The team operates entirely remotely, promoting flexibility and inclusivity while fostering meaningful connections and career growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

EVENT EMAILS & SOCIAL POSTS (70%)
This role will deliver highly effective regular communications that promote, inform and engage our mentees to walk with us the first time and keep returning:

1. Drive the delivery of all recurring event advertising, promotions and messaging for our events
2. Write, design and deliver recurring event social posts and emails:
      A. Social posts needed in the lead up, during and after each event
      B. Event promotions and management emails
      C. Social media and search engine advertising event ad campaigns
      D. Regularly update and maintain the content on our website and event platforms
3. Track and monitor performance to recommend improvements and optimisation strategies
4. Set up and/or maintain events in CRM and other event platforms
5. Provide support to deliver high quality events when required
6. Respond effectively and efficiently to inbound event enquiries
7. Be hands on and step in where needed when gaps and challenges come up

LOCATION COMMUNICATIONS (30%):
This role will plan and deliver the different communications across our channels to keep our audiences engaged and informed across all of our locations:

1. Work closely with our 17 Local Teams on their local area marketing initiatives, including:
      A. Setup and maintain the content and design of Mentor Walks library of tools and templates
      B. Guidance on best ways to use the Mentor Walks toolkit library and any incoming new ideas
      C. Create posts, reels, stories, video and content provided by Local Teams for key social channels – including Linked In, Instagram, You Tube, website and email to our brand and tone guidelines
      D. Ensure local teams follow brand guidelines, steps etc in line with Mentor Walks
2. Write, design and deliver quarterly email newsletters to mentors, mentees and partners
3. Produce required event communications across email, social media etc for new strategic
partnership initiatives, free online webinar Mentor Walks Talk Series, new locations, custom events
and annual dates relevant to Mentor Walks ie. International Women’s day etc.


Requirements
Knowledge & skills

● 2+ years strong proven experience in a social or communications role with similar tasks
● Exceptional English skills - write and speak fluently
● Creative and compelling writer and story teller and designer
● Focused on outcomes and performance of the content and communications they produce
● Experience using the most common social and digital marketing platforms, with ability to take on
and learn similar platforms easily
● Must have good attention to detail, well organised, solid communication skills
● Ability to update, make changes and write promotional marketing copy is highly desirable
● Experience of or familiarity with supporting women in their careers, or worked in events, each is
preferred but not essential.

Availability

● This is a remote role with a review every six months 
● Hours are based around servicing the local teams and events (usually mornings and early evenings)
in Australia (all states), New Zealand (Christchurch and Auckland), Singapore, Canada (Vancouver
and Calgary) and Dubai UAE. Also needs to be available to post after-walk Linked In posts as close
as possible to the end of each walking event. They can be pre-setup but not automatically
scheduled as the walk photos come from the event that morning.
● This role reports to Mentor Walks General Manager
● At minimum one month's notice should this person be unable to continue with this ongoing role
