Role: IT Systems Administrator

Work Arrangement: Work from Home

Location: India

Schedule: Morning shift


Job Description:

  • Respond to inbound service requests, incident tickets, and IT support inquiries from end-users and automated alarms via approved communication methods.
  • Provide initial triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical incidents within your skillset, ensuring timely resolution or;
  • Escalate unresolved issues and collaborate with Tier 2 NOC and Tier 3 Service Desk Analysts to identify root cause analysis, preventative measures, and workarounds.
  • Perform basic service requests within your skillset such as backup recovery and configuration, and deploying Diamond’s managed software.
  • Provide excellent customer service by managing communication with end-users throughout the lifecycle of their service requests, incidents, or changes.
  • Ensure that any complaints or concerns raised by the customer are directed to the account owner within Diamond.
  • Identify technical risks and remediate directly if possible, or escalate to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Perform regular, proactive service on customer IT environments by aligning them to Diamonds best practice standards as part of Diamond TechOps process.
  • Undertake remediation, maintenance and reconfiguration of customer environments as defined by the Diamond TechOps process.
  • Attend meetings as required with the BTM to assist in the delivery of Diamond’s TechOps reports.


General Responsibilities

  • Participate in rostered on-call duties.
  • Comply with all Diamond policies, procedures and standards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to effectively manage and document all service requests, incidents, problems and change requests within Diamond IT’s ITSM tool, ensuring that all activities are captured, and tickets are kept up to date.
  • In collaboration with Diamond Management, establish and pursue yearly goals to maintain continued performance and professional development.
  • When hourly rates chargeable services are to be performed, ensure that the clients appropriate financial representative approves the work to be carried out, and is made aware of status of issues and time spent.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technology, software, and IT trends.
  • Attend team meetings, training sessions, and company events as required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including pursuing industry certification, to maintain and enhance IT skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledgebase articles and customer documentation.
  • Contribute to identified opportunities for service improvements, cost savings, and automation, and work collaboratively with management and operations teams to implement them.
  • Liaise with third party vendor support to fulfil service requests and resolve incidents when required.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as directed by Diamond Management from time to time.


Qualification and requirements:

  • Microsoft Certified Associate
  • Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology or related discipline (TAFE Cert 4, Diploma or University Degree)
  • Knowledge of Veeam or equivalent backup solution


Non-negotiable skills & requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to communicate with a variety of end users with a range of abilities and backgrounds
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, firewall and VPN technology
  • The ability to rapidly adapt to new products and technologies
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Windows Server and client Operating Systems
  • Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, M365, Azure, etc) experience
