It’s designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses. The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles while doing commercial deliveries.

We are seeking a dedicated HR Manager to join our team and lead our HR practices and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of transforming HR initiatives, improving employee relations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. As a strategic advisor to senior leadership, this role requires a deep understanding of organizational policies, employee engagement, and compensation strategies. You will ensure Serve adheres to all state and federal regulations, promoting a fair, equitable, and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving HR initiatives that enhance organizational performance and foster a strong, inclusive culture.

  • Lead the development and execution of an equitable compensation strategy, conducting regular market analyses to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry standards.

  • Establish, enforce, and communicate HR policies and procedures across the organization. Conduct compliance audits and training to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, reducing legal risk.

  • Champion a positive employee relations environment, fostering inclusivity, continuous improvement, and high performance at all levels of the organization.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of performance management systems that drive employee development, accountability, and organizational growth.

  • Design and implement robust talent development programs to equip employees with the skills and knowledge needed for current and future organizational success.

  • Manage and optimize employee benefits programs, ensuring they meet employee needs and remain competitive within the industry.

  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement and excellence in HR operations.

  • Drive adoption of HR technology, promote self-service tools, and lead change management initiatives to optimize HR processes and systems during periods of rapid growth.

  • Leverage HR data and metrics to identify trends, anticipate business needs, and develop actionable solutions that align with organizational objectives.

  • Lead HR system implementations and enhancements, ensuring clear project plans with timelines, milestones, key decisions, and deliverables are met.

  • Ensure all HR initiatives are aligned with key business objectives, focusing on driving organizational success and scaling HR systems for growth.

  • Collaborate with leaders at all levels to create and implement strategies that enhance employee engagement, retention, and the overall workplace environment.

  • Support the growth of the organization by ensuring HR systems and processes are scalable and effective across multiple locations and states.

  • Oversee payroll administration for a diverse workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payments for both salaried and hourly employees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. 

  • 5+ years of HR management experience, with a proven track record in transforming HR practices and policies.

  • Proven experience in implementing, optimizing, and scaling HRIS platforms (preferably Rippling)

  • In-depth knowledge of federal and California employment law and HR best practices.

  • Proven experience scaling HR operations in a hyper-growth environment, preferably within a tech startup.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated experience in compensation strategy and market analysis.
