Job Description

The Associate Director, Commercial Data Management will be responsible for liaising between the franchise teams and our dev/ops team, defining requirements, prioritizing intake across all franchises, and managing releases and the backlog queue in concert with the data warehouse roadmap.

The role will report to the Director of Commercial Data Architecture & Operations, as part of the Customer Experience Insights & Operations (CxI&O) team for North America. The CxI&O team is focused on ensuring we elevate the experience for our customers internally and externally through integration across sales and marketing. The Data Operations team is responsible for the tools and processes supporting the Commercial data architecture across all brands/therapeutic areas. 

Preferred candidates are located near one of our offices: Waltham, MA and Morrisville, NC

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, enhance, and maintain data analytics infrastructure through the release management process to support business needs across all TAs.
  • Collaborate with Commercial teams (e.g., Market Access, Sales, Insights) to understand data needs and provide support.
  • Ensure data is properly formatted and stored for easy access and analysis.
  • Develop and implement data management strategies to support business goals.
  • Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of data from acquisition to deletion, ensuring efficient data usage and storage.
  • Analyze data to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data-related tools and processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve data management processes and tools.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data management and analytics
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and market trends.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of Data Operations or similar experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices; with tools such as Jira, Azure Dev/Ops; cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake
  • Proven record of managing development teams
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sources, commercial data needs, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience in data management and analysis tools and languages, such as Python, R, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau)
  • Ability to think strategically to support key business decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in team-based environment across key functions and all levels of management within Commercial, as well as other key functions including, but not limited to: Finance, HR, Compliance
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize, and navigate the efficient path to results
  • Experience in rare disease, hematology, immunology, or specialty-distributed products preferred

Additional Information

This is a non-sales position and will be compensated by MBOs and not the field incentive compensation plan.

The base salary pay range for this role is $150,000-$195,000 annually.  Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings
