POSITION INTRO
ARU currently has a challenging opportunity for a Technical Product Owner / Technical Business Analyst. This enthusiastic, self-motivated individual will be part of a team-oriented environment in the Operations Department, working 100% remote.
The Tech PO will be the primary liaison between project resources and various business units in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to our Loss Control Software applications / systems. He/She acts as a technical consultant for business problems and opportunities and provides insight for possible technical solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for the technical aspects of the Loss Control Software, and liaise between the business and technical teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Take ownership of the existing Loss Control Software product by understanding its purpose and establishing the product strategy and goals. Help ARU make LC+ the best loss control software in the world.
- Serve as the liaison between the customer community and the development teams through which requirements flow and convert them to technical specifications
- Conduct interviews and lead requirements gathering sessions with product owners and business stakeholders
- Elicit and write business and system functional and non-functional requirements including usability, reliability, performance, and support requirements for the system
- Manage product backlog, prioritizing features and ensuring the development team is focused on the most important/valuable tasks
- Effectively communicate requirements and issues to business customers and elicit feedback for application’s programmers and technology solution providers to ensure customer needs are met
- Develop and maintain use cases and workflow scenarios
- Work with application developers and vendors to analyze and develop conceptual design of system components
- Monitor the performance of both product & quality at each iteration
- Support release planning by participating in release planning sessions to help with prioritization and identification of potential dependencies
- Oversee product testing and UAT to ensure quality standards are met along with customer expectations
- Conduct issue triage and escalation as it relates to requirements/technical issues for the customer/project
- Act as Post-Launch Subject Matter Expert for internal and external contacts
WHAT WE MINIMALLY REQUIRE - YOUR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLSET:
- BS/BA Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Systems
- 6+ years of experience in a Tech PO / Senior Business Analyst and solution delivery-focused capacity that encompasses web and mobile applications.
- Experience with business analysis, process improvement, Scrum, and Agile Development methodologies.
- Familiarity with process mapping and process improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., LucidChart, Lean Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in software development, coding, and web designing methodologies.
- Ability to work directly with customers to understand business requirements
- Ability to understand the customer area's functions and processes
- Proven ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and accompanying results, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Exceptional thoroughness, accuracy, personal organization, time management, and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the strong ability to resolve challenging situations with a patient and calm demeanor.
- Excellent critical thinker and problem-solver under pressure. High intellectual curiosity, with an enjoyment of learning and self-improvement.
- Insurance experience is a plus, but not required.
REMOTE POSITION / HOME OFFICE / TIME ZONE REQUIREMENTS:
- This is a 100% remote position. As such, adherence to remote-work best practices is required, which includes (but is not limited to) having an appropriate professional home-office set-up, with reliable high-speed internet. The space used for the office must be a separate enclosed room with a door that closes and that has professional decor appropriate for video conferencing.
- As this is a remote position, candidates may live anywhere in the United States. However, working either EASTERN or CENTRAL time business hours is required.
