Summary/objectiveThe
Product Owner leads product development initiatives, working closely with key stakeholders and an agile team of developers to manage and prioritize software development efforts. They are essential to coordinating software development activities, ensuring that development aligns with business goals and strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of excellent communication skills, business acumen, and technical knowledge to translate business needs into technical solutions and manage the product lifecycle from conception to release.
Essential functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.)- Work with all levels of business to define and interpret business needs, create user stories, and validate requirements. Overseeing the development of new software features and applications from inception to release.
- Collaborate with the Lead Software Engineer to ensure that stories are complete, feasible, and conform to technical standards.
- Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects customer needs and company goals.
- Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, facilitating communication and confirming alignment of business priorities and sprint progress.
- Participate in sprint planning, ensuring that the technical team fully understands requirements and the supporting business logic. Acting as an informed user advocate within the development team.
- Promote timely delivery of features and enhancements by providing clear requirements, removing obstacles in a timely manner, making informed decisions, and escalating blockers to leadership for resolution during development.
- Participates in Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing of solutions to ensure features and functions requested have been enabled and optimized prior to release.
- Lead and communicate the release plan, create release notes, and providing additional documentation as requested.
CompetenciesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in product management or as a product owner or project manager in an Agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable written requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis and using customer feedback to drive product decisions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to adapt work hours to address critical needs.

Starting salary range:Required education and experience- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ professional coding experience.
