Job description

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Growth that will help us deliver technology-forward auto insurance solutions to our evolving distribution channels.

We’d love to talk to you, if you are:

  • A strategic thinker and an execution powerhouse, driven by a passion for data-driven insights and innovative problem-solving.
  • An early-adopter who will champion emerging technologies across the spectrum of distribution possibilities, strategically driving profitable growth through differentiation.
  • A natural player-coach capable of identifying and cultivating talent while being willing and able to engage in hands-on work.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Distribution Strategy and Roadmap. Develop and execute the strategic direction of distribution with a balanced focus on profit and growth. Initial focus will be on optimizing agency distribution through national and regional partnerships by delivering a compelling value proposition that inspires confidence and loyalty. Develop a plan for omni-channel distribution and prioritize tactics to efficiently achieve business outcomes.
  • Partnership Development. Design and articulate key partnership strategies, identify and cultivate prospects, negotiate deal terms, manage contracting processes, facilitate integration requirements, and lead onboarding and training activities.
  • Account Management. Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships and facilitate ongoing account-level performance management.
  • Distribution Economics. Manage and effectively communicate compensation structures that motivate partners within allowable acquisition cost targets to achieve profitable growth
  • Distribution Compliance. Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure distribution activities comply with state and national regulatory authorities including required training, compliance, and oversight activities.
  • Emerging Channel Strategy. Develop and maintain broad knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape to develop strategies to help Clearcover lead the way towards the future of agency distribution.
  • Training & Support Model. Design, develop, and manage training and operational processes that allow us to support and scale distribution reach.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with members of our product, technology, finance, and operational teams to build key capabilities and deliver on targeted growth and profit outcomes.
  • Team Building. Develop a staffing plan to achieve an articulated distribution strategy. Partner with internal resources to recruit, hire, develop, and retain talent.

What do you have?

  • P&L experience. You’ve strategically led a business to balance growth and profitability. Personal Lines Insurance experience is required.
  • Distribution expert. You’re highly motivated by the thought of disrupting legacy business models and bringing new product solutions to market. Experience scaling agency distribution channels is a must. Experience with D2C channels preferred, not a must.
  • Relationship guru. You’re able to build effective relationships, both internally and externally, can effectively navigate complex relationships, and influence without authority as needed.
  • Highly operational and analytical. You understand customer acquisition and distribution-related KPIs and how they impact overall insurance financials.
  • Stellar communicator. You’re able to communicate overall business objectives and operational plans externally and the strategies and motivations of our partners internally.
  • Compliance-forward. You’re fluent with agency licensing and appointment regulations and supporting operational processes, partner contract compliance, and insurance industry requirements concerning consent and communication with consumers
  • Self-starter. You have the ability to lead and drive initiatives with little oversight – the persistence and tenacity to break down barriers while also bringing people together towards a common goal.
  • Flexible and tenacious. You have the ability to work amidst ambiguity and adapt as we grow and expand.
  • Growth-minded. You’re driven to improve performance through continuous learning.
