Position Summary

The Senior Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing broad-based compensation functions and incentive programs across the organization. This role requires expertise in compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and data analysis, with a focus on ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  You'll work closely with HR, executives, and department managers to ensure that the organization is providing a fair and competitive rewards system that aligns with the company's goals and values. This role will manage the day-to-day administration of global mobility programs including long-term and short-term international assignments. You will provide guidance across US, UK, Europe and APAC locations related to global compensation plans. You will be a key contributor in the Global Compensation team, making a significant impact as STERIS continues to grow.

 

This position is a remote opportunity for those who do not reside near our Corporate Headquarters. If you do reside near the Mentor, OH office then this position is on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in the office, 2 days/week remote). 

Duties
  • Partner with Management and HR Business Partners to deliver compensation and benefits services, ensuring adherence to STERIS policy and practices.
  • Serves as internal compensation subject matter expert and educates and informs the organization about STERIS compensation policies and practices and makes recommendations based on internal and external sources/best practice.
  • Leads and manages compensation projects across allocated countries (e.g. structure development and implementation, integrations, re-organizations). Models costs and employee impact analysis and drives implementation of approved changes.
  • Conduct market job evaluations and provide guidance and recommendations to HR and leaders to ensure consistent job architecture, internal equity, and competitive base pay.
  • Lead day-to-day delivery of Global Mobility services including but not limited to international assignments (short-term and long-term), one-way transfers and cross-country commuting arrangements and global business travelers.
  • Oversee and manage relationships with external vendors, such as relocation service providers, immigration consultants, and tax advisors to ensure effective service delivery and support for business stakeholders and employees.
  • Utilize strong working knowledge of global compensation and benefits to assist in the design, planning and administration of corporate employee compensation and benefit programs including medical, life insurance, pension, group income protection programs etc.
  • Models’ costs and employee impact analysis and drives implementation of approved changes. Prepare cost analysis of employee health and welfare benefits including calculating annual benefit premiums, employee contributions.
  • Responsibilities include annual benefit renewals and contracts, tracking cost trends, recommending plan changes to ensure they remain competitive and cost-effective. Develop, produce, and distribute ongoing employee health and welfare plan communications such as summary plan descriptions, benefit bulletins, etc.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years Global Compensation & Benefits experience with compensation analysis experience, with Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree
  • Global Mobility experience required.
  • Market data analysis and Job Evaluation experience required.
  • Experience with market pricing tools such as BetterComp and SAP a plus.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification a plus

Pay range for this opportunity is $78,500.00 - $109,987.50.  This position is eligible for annual bonus program.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

 

Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company’s 401k plan. Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability.  Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
