Job Title: Payroll Services Specialist
Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Services Specialist (PSS) to join our team on a temporary basis to cover for a team member on maternity leave. As a Payroll Services Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate payroll of contractors, acting as a liaison with the corporate office regarding all accounting-related issues. This role requires strong data integrity and compliance skills, effective time management, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. You will also be responsible for building effective relationships with our immediate team and ecosystem partners.
Responsibilities
- Manage timecard and expense collection, entry, and auditing.
- Process payroll on a weekly basis.
- Assist teams with reporting holiday/vacation, sick time, and CA meal break trackers.
- Complete payroll adjustments in eRecruit and VMS technology.
- Identify and resolve worker-related issues.
- Build strong ecosystem partnerships with accounting & finance and compliance.
- Resolve payroll and invoicing issues in partnership with the Employee Relationship Specialist and corporate office teams.
- Maintain client and contractor employee relations by researching and solving concerns related to payroll and invoicing in a timely fashion.
- Maintain unemployment records.
Essential Skills
- Clerical/data entry experience
- Excel
- MS Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Strong communication skills with internal partners
- Ability to work fully remote

- Payroll processing experience
- Knowledge of benefits/employment law
- Experience in recruiting/HR support
Work Environment
This position is fully remote, with a preference for someone who lives in Michigan. Standard working hours are 8am-5pm. Necessary equipment, including a laptop, will be shipped directly to you.
