Job Summary
The successful candidate will report to the Contractor Distributor Sales Manager and will successfully manage a portfolio of both contractor and distributor accounts. The candidate will be responsible for discovering, fostering, winning and maintaining all types of commercial construction projects in addition to stock and discretionary business, which coincides with the company's overall growth objectives. The candidate will also pursue design build/P3 project sales within the commercial and industrial market for contractors and distributors with a focus on providing the client with a full-scale solution. This person will need advanced expertise in market pricing and trends and an intimate understanding of the overall contractor distributor marketplace. They will need to be collaborative in nature, working closely with cross functional teams to maximize win rate and profitability. They will also need to understand the quotation and customer service processes to facilitate strong relationships within the organization. The candidate must be a strong relationship builder, cultivating key customer accounts at both contractor and distributor partners, ensuring Acuity is the brand of choice. The Contractor Distributor Account Manager will also act as an escalation point for internal and external stakeholders to quickly and efficiently resolve issues.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Accountable for setting and achieving individual goals. Using data analytics, the candidate will need to evaluate results against targets and act accordingly. They will need to identify root causes and create counter measures to achieve continuous improvement. They will need to build an environment of clear and open communication, customer service, and strong culture to ensure teamwork and achievement of goals. (20%)
- Sales calls to maintain, grow and develop relationships with key decision makers in the GTA contractor and distributor market to increase sales and drive brand preference. Must be comfortable with engaging at all levels within the organizations. (60%)
- Engage cross functionally with Customer Service, Quotations, Business Development manager and Contractor-Distributor sales to harmonize overall team results, increase specifications, increase project win rates and improve customer experience. (20%)
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- 3-5 years of electrical industry experience.
- Able to work on the road 75% in the GTA.
- Driver’s license required.
- Meeting planning for both virtual and in-person events, for both internal and external stakeholders. This includes the conception, development, execution, and follow-up stages.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as a sense of curiosity and creativity. They must be able to present to a large group of people in an engaging fashion. Ability to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow up and manage multiple projects while prioritizing varying deadlines at once. The successful candidate will have strong organizational, time management and leadership skills and the ability to coordinate key deliverables with other functions.
- Leadership skills - will act as the main point of contact to represent Acuity Brands from a business ethics and moral standpoint.
- Relationship building - will need to develop and maintain key customer relationships
