Director of Carrier Voice Routing and Analytics (US or Canada - Remote)

Sangoma Technologies seeks a highly skilled Director of Carrier Voice Routing and Analytics to lead carrier inbound/outbound routing, pricing, network analytics, and business analysis. This role is essential for optimizing network performance, improving cost efficiencies, driving revenue growth, and aligning business strategy with data insights. Initially, it is an individual contributor role, but this position has the potential for team leadership responsibilities in the near future.

Your Role:

Carrier Routing & Analytics:

  • Oversee outbound carrier routing strategies to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Analyze network performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions on pricing, rates, and capacity planning.
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting on both outbound and inbound DID (Direct Inward Dialing) networks, including IPES and reseller networks.


Network Optimization & Expansion:

  • Develop and execute cost-saving strategies that also enhance revenue growth.
  • Lead the growth of the IPES network while streamlining the DID footprint consolidation under our own OCN (Operating Company Number).
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to implement network optimizations across all carrier services.


Business Analysis & Strategy:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of carrier performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support strategic initiatives such as network expansion, rate negotiations, and new product offerings.
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and product teams to align carrier routing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Present data-driven insights to senior leadership, recommending actionable changes to improve profitability, reduce costs, or optimize service offerings.


Strategic Vendor and Carrier Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with carriers and vendors to support overall business objectives and enhance service quality.
  • Monitor and negotiate carrier rates to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining high-quality service standards.


Operational Leadership & Crisis Management:

  • Gain deep technical knowledge of Sangoma’s voice infrastructure, and continually seek ways to improve and streamline processes.
  • Lead mission-critical projects, including coordinating after-hours efforts to mitigate network outages or meet urgent deadlines.


Your Background:

  • 8+ years experience in optimizing network performance, improving cost efficiencies, driving revenue growth
  • Extensive Experience in carrier voice management, particularly in routing optimization, cost management, and performance analytics.
  • Ability to use data to make informed decisions on capacity management, rate negotiation, and network performance.
  • Proven ability to analyze market trends, build financial models, and develop business strategies that drive operational and financial improvements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, often under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations.
  • Expertise in using Excel, SQL, Power BI, or similar tools for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Willingness to work scheduled shifts and manage after-hours emergency projects as needed.
  • Familiarity with emerging telecom trends, particularly in VoIP, SIP trunking, and next-gen carrier services.
