As legal and judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions stands as a leader in providing transcription services across various industries. We are currently seeking experienced legal/judicial contract candidates with significant expertise in transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a fully remote opportunity available for independent contractors.

The content to be covered includes depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. This role requires intense attention to detail to accurately discern spoken content, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. You will process audio recordings while strictly adhering to style guides to produce verbatim transcripts.

As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, you will have the flexibility to set your own schedule and receive guidance from our supportive in-office team whenever needed. We offer available work 24/7/365 to accommodate any schedule, and candidates with weekend availability are encouraged to apply.

Skills Requirements

• Experience with court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription required.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Adherence to deadlines and client-specific style guides.
• Outstanding literacy skills, including comprehension, spelling, and grammar.
• Ability to collaborate remotely.
• Typing proficiency in both speed and accuracy.
• Ability to process extreme audio/text content (may be offensive).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Familiarity with legal terminology.
• Court reporting students will also be considered.
• This opportunity is currently not available to residents of Massachusetts or California.

• Infinity foot pedal (highly recommended).
