As a Strategic Account Manager (SAM), you will be at the forefront of managing Global Express’s key strategic accounts or a bespoke portfolio of strategic accounts. Your mission is to elevate TGE’s profile, boost our market share, and cultivate customer loyalty to ensure optimal retention and growth. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Sales, you will play a pivotal role in developing, expanding, and solidifying long-term customer relationships, ensuring business retention and expansion across the Retail verticals. This role spans all business units, requiring proactive representation and innovative solution development to effectively partner with clients.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and regularly review comprehensive growth and sales strategies tailored to each customer to drive business expansion.
- Establish and nurture executive-level relationships beyond operational and procurement contacts to strengthen customer loyalty and engagement.
- Identify opportunities to expand current services and cross-sell additional solutions, ensuring continuous and sustainable business growth.
- Advocate for customer requirements at both executive and operational levels, developing innovative solutions to address their challenges and improve their experience.
- Keep detailed and up-to-date sales and revenue forecasts, ensuring all opportunities are accurately reported and progressed within target timeframes in the CRM system.
- Lead initiatives to remove business barriers and enhance the customer experience by collaborating with senior internal stakeholders across various departments.
About You
You are a passionate and dynamic sales professional who thrives on selling complex B2B solutions to large clients, successfully closing deals with extended lead times. You are driven by processes and contracts, with a strong background in solution development. Your analytical abilities enable you to interpret data and craft detailed solutions. Your exceptional sales and influencing skills, coupled with your ability to communicate and network with stakeholders at all levels, will be key to your success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive ability to create compelling sales proposals and deliver impactful presentations that resonate with high-level stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships from C-Suite executives down to operational contacts, ensuring deep and lasting customer connections.
- Experience in developing and executing strategies to retain and grow a customer portfolio, with a focus on long-term business development and customer loyalty.
- Consistent history of meeting and exceeding sales targets, showcasing your ability to drive revenue growth and achieve business objectives.
- Demonstrated commercial insight, including customer and opportunity planning, and accurate revenue forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
- Proven expertise in negotiating contracts, ensuring favourable terms for both the company and the customer, and securing long-term business agreements.
