Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.


Account base includes Global AI Service Providers; work location is US-Based Remote


Purpose of Position:

Maximize the sales of all Corning Optical Communication’s products to the key global AI Cloud Providers identified as strategic. Execute a joint sales and access (marketing /technology) plan for assigned accounts to be implemented across geographic boundaries including NAFTA, EMEA, APAC and Latin America.


Key Responsibilities:

• Meet sales budget for all fiber optic products relevant to the assigned accounts

• Understand Global Hyperscale DC, AI Cloud Provider and Co-Location DC business models

• Serve as “owner” of the commercial strategy for key accounts, and develop strong relationships with key decision makers within each client

• Apply strategic thinking to develop account plans and ultimately grow the business

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the AI global business to recognize opportunities and provide accurate forecasts


Required Qualifications:

• Minimum ten (10) years Telecom experience required

• Minimum five (5) years of experience selling to cloud service providers

• BA or BS from an accredited 4-year institution or equivalent

• MBA or equivalent degree is strongly preferred

• Familiarity with cloud delivery model of GPU infrastructure

• Detailed understanding of cloud compute and storage offerings in the marketplace

• Relationships with cloud infrastructure providers are a plus

• Ability to motivate teams and drive indirect reports

• Excellent communication skills, habits, and follow-up

• Strong oral and written presentation skills

• International experience highly desirable

• Knowledge of Fiber-optic infrastructure products

• Special emphasis on Microsoft Teams, SalesForce.com, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word


Travel requirements:

• Position requires 50% travel

The range for this position is $126,035.00 - $173,299.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
