DEADLINE: June 15, 2025
This role is ideal for someone passionate about world history, sustainability, education, youth engagement, and digital storytelling. You will be responsible for managing and expanding Ages of Globalization’s presence on social media, including youth takeovers. You’ll work directly with the AoG education team and gain hands-on experience in global educational communications and shape and grow a purpose-driven digital identity from the ground up. This is a volunteer position requiring an average of 10 hours per week (flexible and remote).
Ages of Globalization is a free, multidisciplinary online course designed to empower a global community of learners — students ages 14+, educators, and lifelong learners alike — to address today’s sustainable development challenges. This course takes participants on an immersive journey through seven
transformative ages of human history, examining how geography, technology, and institutions have shaped our interconnected world. Based on Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs' influential book, the course deepens learners’ understanding of global history, the forces driving large-scale change, and innovative
solutions for a sustainable future. Through dynamic video lectures, virtual visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, expert interviews, cutting-edge ESD lesson plans, and engaging activities, learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to tackle complex global issues
Global Schools is an initiative led by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network in support of UNESCO’s ESD for 2030 Roadmap. Its mission is to empower schools and teachers globally to educate students on sustainable development, global citizenship, and 21st century skills. The vision of the
program is with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to encourage them to prioritize the goals in their lifestyles, behaviors, education, and professional careers. The program aims to do this by transforming learning environments globally and making schools hubs of Education for Sustainable
Development (ESD), ultimately becoming vehicles for mobilizing students to take local leadership for the SDGs in their communities.
Organized by Global Schools, UN at Your Doorstep is the live component of “Ages of Globalization,” for high-school assemblies, extra-curricular activities, Model UN clubs, community NGOs, or the traditional classroom. These online dialogues offer an unprecedented opportunity for high-schoolers to directly
engage with world leaders and UN officials to discuss how to solve the biggest challenges of our time, such as climate change, poverty and inequalities. UN at Your Doorstep live dialogues are vibrant forums for engagement and inspiration, where students can ask questions, seek advice, and gain insights on how
to take action for a more just, peaceful and sustainable world. Students are at the forefront of global discussions, adding an enriching co-curricular element to their educational journeys.
