 A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a key member of the client development team reporting directly to the SVP, Key Accounts and Markets, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

Market Outreach / Emerging Contaminants Branding

  • Build a personal brand within the emerging contaminants domain and establish recognition in the industry as a subject matter expert.

  • Collaborate across Lines of Business (LOBs) to develop comprehensive go-to-market PFAS (and other emerging contaminant) solutions tailored to resonate with clients.

  • Develop a strategic conference plan to ensure Montrose is prominently represented at key events with a consistent message. Partner with the events team to document the plan in Montrose’s Carbon system. Conferences will include Pan-Montrose events, showcasing our unified "One Montrose" story, as well as regional/LOB-specific conferences.

  • Serve as the event champion for Pan-Montrose conferences, overseeing the delegate list, fostering LOB collaboration, and working closely with marketing to achieve ROI and event success. The Events Team will provide marketing, logistical, and administrative support.

  • Lead "know before you go" meetings across LOBs to ensure teams attending Pan-Montrose PFAS conferences are coordinated, strategic, and clear on roles and expectations.

  • Attend and present at major conferences whenever feasible.

  • Collaborate with marketing and external branding consultants to position Montrose as industry leaders in emerging contaminant space as we transition from being perceived solely as a "stack testing company."

  • Partner with Montrose’s SMEs to create a library of technical presentations for use at conferences and for both planned and ad-hoc abstract submissions.

  • Represent Montrose on technical working groups (e.g., ITRC, ASTM), contributing to regulation and method development efforts.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to produce emerging contaminant-related content for all LOBs, including white papers, blogs, webinars, and other educational outreach initiatives at the corporate level.

  • Collaborate with marketing and LOBs to update the PFAS services section of the website, enhancing customer acquisition efforts.

  • Ensure the "State PFAS Regulations and Advisories" portion of the website remains current, working with the marketing team to implement enhancements and provide timely customer notifications of updates.

Business Development (BD)

  • Collaborate with the BD team to identify approximately 10 key accounts, preferably spanning multiple LOBs, and take an active role as either an executive sponsor or team member.

  • Provide technical support, senior-level coaching, and contribute to account strategy development.

  • Leverage your network to secure meetings with the appropriate clients, technical experts, attorneys, and key decision-makers.

  • Engage in account strategy discussions and attend major client meetings, while routine account activities are managed at the BD manager level.

  • Join tiger teams to address major client needs as they engage Montrose on their PFAS journey. This may include serving as a technical advisor to the team or directly to the client.

  • Foster a trusting and collaborative relationship across divisional sales teams (ECT2, MES, and CTEH) and encourage strong inter-LOB communication, ensuring teams stay connected and informed on PFAS initiatives and opportunities.

  • Lead the PFAS Legal Sales Plan by working with marketing to create technical content and outreach tailored to the legal community. Collaborate with SMEs across MEG divisions to develop content and coordinate outreach through marketing to this critical audience.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for emerging contaminant related client opportunities (where feasible), collaborating across LOBs to identify key personnel who can assist proposal teams and contribute effectively.

Technical Excellence

  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert (SME) with a strong understanding of key Montrose PFAS personnel, enabling you to effectively deploy teams to support current and future project execution.

  • Stay informed about technological and regulatory developments related to PFAS and other emerging contaminants by leveraging both internal and external resources.

  • Proactively identify potential emerging contaminants and work across Montrose to create client solutions.

  • Deepen your knowledge of key issues in treatment, remediation, fate and transport, and risk associated with emerging contaminants.

  • Collaborate across Lines of Business (LOBs) to offer subject matter expertise on various projects.

  • Conduct peer reviews of work products to ensure technical accuracy and provide mentorship to junior staff.

Internal Communications

  • Oversee the regular dissemination of PFAS (and other emerging contaminants) updates to the team, utilizing internal or external communication channels as appropriate.

  • Strategically “follow the money” to support budgeting and long-term planning as emerging contaminant funding accelerates, ensuring Montrose is well-positioned and resourced to capitalize on emerging opportunities. Identify developing markets in the process.

  • Assist Montrose in identifying capacity gaps to proactively address potential opportunities, including new service offerings, regulatory support needs, and geographic expansions.

  • Host quarterly PFAS meetings with PFAS leaders to keep teams aligned, informed, and connected as part of a unified Montrose team, beyond their regional or Line of Business (LOB) affiliations. Provide guidance to marketing for broader PFAS communication through MS Teams Channels.
