The Role 

As a Direct Care Staff on Alsana’s Virtual team, you will be an integral part of an inter-disciplinary mental health environment that supports our therapists, dietitians, and nurses in achieving their discipline specific treatment plans. You will perform all role responsibilities in virtual space, utilizing a compliant, web-based platform and electronic medical record system. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintains each client’s physical and psychological safety at all times including assigned tasks, e.g. recording meals, documenting progress from group sessions, and following emergency protocols
  • Completes accurate documentation of observations and notifies supervisor of any unusual findings, e.g. unexcused absences, concerning client behaviors, refusing meals, etc
  • Documents patient progress per procedure
  • Ensures that documentation accurately reflects all changes in client’s condition and notifies the nurse and interdisciplinary team members per program policy
  • Provides one-on-one assistance to clients in crisis as directed by the nurse or therapist and the client’s plan of care
  • Assists clients with nutritional and dietary/meal support as indicated by the facility’s nutritionist and interdisciplinary plan
  • Leads meal groups and participates in eating meals with clients
  • Leads/Co-leads and facilitates groups for Partial Hospital/Intensive Outpatient Clients. Participates in an evening and weekend group rotation
  • Performs all other duties as assigned 

 
QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field required. 
  • One year of experience in the field of behavioral health
  • Knowledge regarding supervision of others
  • Knowledge and competence regarding virtual delivery of therapeutic treatment
