Job description

This is a remote position.

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Part Time
Start Date: ASAP
Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 5:00pm, Flexible during client business hours, 20 hours per week

We are seeking a highly experienced Bookkeeping and Systems Support Specialist to join our client’s growing finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in general bookkeeping, advanced knowledge of Xero, Excel, and preferably experience with Odoo or similar ERP systems.

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running with minimal training, and take ownership of financial workflows across multiple entities.



Key Responsibilities:
General Bookkeeping
  • Accurately allocate supplier invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts across various entities
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly
  • Assist in the preparation of location-specific budgets and forecasts
Xero Accounting System
  • Process invoices using third-party tools (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc)
  • Prepare and import manuals and large-scale journals using Excel
  • Manage supplier payables based on due dates and reconcile with supplier statements
  • Occasionally prepare customer catering invoices
  • Allocate payments against customer invoices efficiently
Excel & Data Handling
  • Input and manage data from external sales software into structured Excel spreadsheets
  • Prepare corresponding journals for import into Xero
  • Update and maintain budget sheets with formulas to forecast sales growth and expense fluctuations
ERP & Systems (Odoo Preferred)
  • Prior hands-on experience using Odoo, or involvement in setting up a new ERP system
  • Ability to adapt quickly to ERP and business workflow processes

Requirements
  • At least 3+ years in a bookkeeping or accounting support role
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
  • Comfortable working in a multi-entity environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Immediate availability preferred
