Job description

Job Description:

The Cash Management Credit Balance Manager has the responsibility for overseeing all facets of patient credits including self-pay, commercial credit, government insurance credits. Maintaining credit resolution vendor relations.
Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient credits, active participation in system integration testing, serving as a subject matter expert for patient credits, actively staying abreast of best practices, and working towards achieving executive goals, optimizing revenue cycle performance, and ensuring the financial stability of the organization.



Essential Functions

· Provide leadership and direction to Credit Balance Resolution team, including hiring, training, coaching, performance reviews and terminations.

· Provide guidance, plans, develops, implements, and communicate operational initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Credit Resolution Team processes.

· Maintains regulatory and statute knowledge, communicates and updates teams and documents.

· Manage communications and processes between departments involved in the revenue cycle and identify areas for improvement.

· Establishes productivity monitoring for the department staff to maximize
resources and results.

· Monitors key performance metrics, addresses issues timely to improve performance and resolve issues.

· Provides project guidance to successfully implement efficiency of credit

resolution practices.

· Maintains and improves department operations by monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving problems.

· Act as a technical expert, maintaining current working knowledge of Billing, Payment Posting and Credit Balance resolution.

· Ensures department compliance with HIPAA guidelines, HR policies and other corporate initiatives.

· Develop document processes and policies for the department.

· Work with outsourcing vendors and monitors key performance metrics around assigned credit balance workload to improve overall performance

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

· Five (5) years of experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle (Credit Balance/Resolution, Payment Posting, Claims, Billing, and Insurance and Follow-up)

· Three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree

· HFMA Certification

· Eight (8) years’ experience Healthcare Revenue Cycle Credit Balance/Resolution, Payment Posting

· Five (5) years Supervisory Experience

Physical Requirements

· Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. · Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. · Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. · May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts. · For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$33.01 - $50.97
