The office of the Africa Chief Executive Officer has an exciting opportunity available for a Regional Coordinator, to support the strategic and operational activities specifically relating to the Africa Strategy. The Africa Regional Coordinator is responsible for driving operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability across the region, playing a critical role in ensuring the region achieves its strategic goals and objectives. The Regional Coordinator will report directly to the Africa Chief Executive Officer.

Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive productivity and performance across the region.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement in line with strategic imperatives for the region.

2. Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the Africa operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop high-performing operational talent, where required.

3. Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and execute the region's overall Africa strategic plan.
  • Align operational initiatives with the region’s vision and long-term objectives.

4. Financial Management

  • Work closely with the Finance Leaders across the region to support the strategic priorities of the Africa Strategy.

5. Process Improvement and Optimisation

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies, implementing best practices to streamline operations across the region where required and in line with the Africa Strategy.
  • Implement performance metrics and reporting systems to track progress and drive improvements.

6. Risk Management and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements, where applicable to this role.
  • Develop and maintain effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational and financial risks, where applicable to the role from time to time.

7. Cross-Border Collaboration

  • Collaborate across the region to support the achievement of the Africa strategy.
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork across the region.

8. Technology and Innovation

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and competitiveness for the Africa region, in line with the strategy.

Requirements

Experience

  • 10+ years’ senior leadership experience in a professional services environment (ideally legal).
  • Proven track record of driving operational performance in a complex, multi-jurisdictional setting.
  • Experience working across Africa and within a global matrix structure.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory, economic, and cultural contexts of the African legal market.
  • Significant professional experience and demonstrated achievement in areas such as strategic planning, driving complex projects to completion, building collaborative networks across borders, team optimization and accountability, managing key relationships and projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in fast-growing region with a strong, diverse, and ambitious cultures.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the development and measurement of key performance indicators.
  • The ideal candidate is a motivated, highly organized, self-starter who is comfortable working closely and collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues at all levels of the business.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, operations management, engineering, etc.).
  • Proven track record of successful operations leadership in a similar industry or organisation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Five or more years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
  • Capable of making timely, effective decisions in complex environments.
  • Thrives in dynamic, high-pressure situations and adapts swiftly to evolving.
  • Navigates international and multicultural environments with ease and cultural sensitivity.
