Description

The Regional Franchise Advisor is the primary liaison between corporate operations and franchisees, ensuring alignment with brand standards, operational excellence, and business growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail operations, franchise support, and relationship management.


This position requires frequent travel. We have two openings, one that requires travel throughout the West Coast and one on the East Coast. 


Key Responsibilities:

Franchise Support & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for franchise owners within the assigned region.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, store visits, and performance reviews to identify opportunities for improvement and provide actionable guidance.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with franchisees to foster a culture of trust and mutual success.

Operational Excellence

  • Assist franchisees in implementing HobbyTown’s operational standards, merchandising strategies, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on inventory management, staffing, compliance, and local marketing efforts.
  • Identify and help resolve operational challenges, ensuring each location is set up for sustainable performance.

Training & Development

  • Facilitate onboarding for new franchisees and offer continuous training support.
  • Coordinate educational resources, tools, and workshops to elevate store performance and team capabilities.
  • Share best practices across locations to elevate performance region-wide.

Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, margins, and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Analyze regional trends and provide data-driven insights to franchisees and the corporate team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve tools, programs, and reporting systems.

Compliance & Brand Standards

  • Ensure all stores comply with HobbyTown’s franchise agreement, policies, and brand guidelines.
  • Conduct operational audits and follow up on corrective action plans as necessary.

Strategic Collaboration

  • Contribute to corporate franchise strategy by offering field insights and feedback.
  • Support the launch of new initiatives and pilot programs in partnership with other departments (marketing, merchandising, IT, etc.).
Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in multi-unit retail operations, franchise management, or hobby retail leadership.
  • Experience with franchise agreements, store operations, and financial performance management.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and implement operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in retail POS systems, CRM tools, and reporting software.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in hobby-specific retail chains or franchise models.
  • Understanding of the customer base, community engagement strategies, and event-driven sales approaches in hobby retail.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to franchise and corporate locations. 
  • Strong knowledge of hobby products, including RC vehicles, model kits, board games, tabletop gaming, or other specialty hobby merchandise a plus but not required.
