GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

Coordinate and manage the implementation of AFSC’s emergency response plan to develop Know Your Rights materials and enhance rapid response activities to support immigrants in the US who are being detained, deported, or are most at risk.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support US Migration Director in monitoring and tracking emergency response efforts.
  • Support development, compilation and distribution of updated Know Your Rights materials for use by AFSC Just Migration programs in the US.
  • In partnership with AFSC’s Strategy, Learning and Impact department, support compilation of local program activities, including Know Your Rights and leadership training presentations for internal and external use.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions and follows policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY / MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in immigrant rights field required.
  • Experience and understanding of Know Your Rights information in the immigration context.
  • Experience in and understanding of community organizing principles and methodologies.
  • Strong analytic and writing skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and to travel, as
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse staff.

COMPENSATION

This position is a non-exempt position. Salary Family: Program Job Code Program Assistant Hourly Starting hourly rate is $25 per hour. There are no medical, dental, or life insurance benefits, short-term or long-term insurance benefits with this position. AFSC does participate in unemployment, worker’s compensation, and social security.
