Job description:

Title: Sr. Business Analyst - Financial

Location: Carmel, IN – 100% Remote

Duration: 6 - 12 months +

Job Description:

We are looking for a BA with at least 5+ years of experience and Finance experience. This BA needs strong experience supporting Financial projects, financial modeling and utilizing excel. An ideal candidate will come from a Finance/ Accounting background.

Top Desired Skills:

1. Need a Financial focused Business Analyst with at least 5+ years of experience

2. Financial calculations in Excel
3. Documentation, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Process Modeling
4. Forward thinking within Data and thinking about where to take the group.

- Any Energy industry experience would be a nice plus

Summary:

  • We need a Sr. Business Analyst to conduct current MISO Value Proposition calculation based on existing workbook design.
  • In addition to document underline calculation and improve the existing calculation workbook.

Desired Skills:

Data analytics, Documentation, Cost-benefit Analysis, Process Modeling and Analysis, System Analysis, Requirements Management, Business Intelligence Tools Experience

Meeting Notes:

  • Should be at least a 6 month engagement.
  • Looking for a BA. MISO has a couple value proposition initiatives.
  • Experience in financial modeling.
  • Someone who can deliver using existing framework of 2024 proposition value.
  • The 2nd is process improvements around data ingestion and data quality…process enhancements achieved through data.
  • Financial/Accounting background would be the ideal candidate.

  • Value Proposition Calculation- thinking about from a voided capital cost.
  • Everything done in spreadsheets for configurations.
  • A lot of documentation to automatically populate first scan all the data refresh. Underlying calculations that are programmed in.
  • If a new market is offered that MISO does translate from deterministic view to something new. 30-40 hours is the forecasting.
  • Financial modeling is another name for value proposition…financial analyst, financial modeler.
  • Additional phases coming up so it could turn into a longer-term position.
  • Existing workbook has been developed in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Not the ideal long term setup.
  • Preferably they'd like to explore a true database to handle underlying data.
  • Someone who can help prioritize ideas on modernizing this.
