Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing revenue-related financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as ASC 606, and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting. You will collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Sales, Legal, and Finance, providing valuable insights that support strategic business decisions. The impact you'll have:

  • Transaction Support and Processing: Work closed with Deal Desk and Sales teams to ensure the accurate recording of revenue transactions, including vendor registration, customer invoicing, PO procurement, payment tracking, and contract analysis.
  • Revenue Recognition: Apply ASC 606 and other relevant standards to accurately recognize and record revenue in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and quarterly revenue reports and supporting schedules for both internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Compliance: Ensure all revenue accounting practices comply with US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to review customer contracts, support deal structuring, ensure proper revenue treatment and quick cash collection.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain thorough and organized documentation of revenue transactions, policies, and procedures to support audits and internal reviews.
  • Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and prepare revenue forecasts, offering data-driven insights to senior leadership.
  • Auditing: Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to inquiries related to revenue.
  • Month-End Close: Lead and contribute to the revenue portion of the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations and understanding the variances to budget and identifying trends.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare specialized revenue reports and analytics as requested by Finance leadership or other departments.

 

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with a focus on revenue recognition.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • Experience working in SaaS or technology environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP & CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite, SalesForce, etc.) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills across an organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

U.S. Pay Range
$90,000$110,000 USD

Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate, and is provided pursuant to Equal Pay Laws. SchoolStatus intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, such as experience. Our team will provide more information about the total compensation package for this position during the interview process.
