This is a remote contract position.

About the Position
Thread is looking for an expert to provide specialized expertise on solar asset inspections, damage assessment, and review workflows. This contractor will serve as our internal domain expert to provide critical insights on the design of an automated inspection product for solar.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the product team to validate requirements, designs, and specifications against real-world solar inspection practices.
  • Participate in sprint reviews and provide feedback on product in development to support an agile development process.
  • Work with the ML team to provide input on damage types, severity levels, and classifications for automated detection models.

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience in solar farm inspection and damage assessment - must understand defect identification, severity classification, and maintenance implications
  • Strong background in solar asset review workflows - experience with inspection reporting, damage documentation, and maintenance prioritization
  • Industry knowledge of solar farm operations including O&M practices, performance monitoring, and asset management
  • Experience working with product teams or technical consultancy background preferred
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders
