This fully remote position is responsible for processing recertifications for participants in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. This includes ensuring compliance with all eligibility requirements and that documentation is handled in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. Success in this role requires a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Quality control responsibilities may also be assigned as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process recertification applications for participants in the housing choice voucher program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Review participant income, household composition, and other relevant factors to determine continued eligibility for housing assistance.
Maintain detailed, accurate records of recertifications and supporting documentation in the database.
Calculate rent adjustments based on income changes and other factors according to housing policies.
Review and analyze financial and household data to ensure the correct application of rent and subsidy calculations.
Provide guidance and support professionally to participants, answering questions regarding the recertification process, required documentation, and eligibility.
Maintain confidentiality of all personally identifiable information (PII) and ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of recertifications to avoid lapses in eligibility or assistance.
Collaborate with other housing staff to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to participants’ recertification and eligibility.
Conducts all activities to ensure nondiscrimination.
Assist with quality control activities related to the housing choice voucher recertification process as needed.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Accounting, mortgage processing, and direct customer interfacing experience a plus.
Experience in affordable housing programs, participant recertifications, or similar administrative roles preferred.
Knowledge of HUD regulations, Fair Housing laws, and other affordable housing policies and procedures is a plus.
Must obtain HCV/PH Certification within 45 days from date of hire.
Strong computer skills.
