Handle litigation matters related to water, environmental, and natural resources law
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
Prepare for and participate in trials, hearings, and administrative proceedings
Collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex cases
Maintain 1400 billable hours per year
Travel within Colorado for client meetings, hearings, and trials (approximately 30 travel days per year, including occasional overnights)
Associate Attorney Requirements
2-4 years of litigation experience (water law experience highly preferred)
Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom skills
Must be licensed to practice law in Colorado
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
Ability to work independently in a small-firm environment without support staff
Interest in water law, environmental, or natural resources litigation
Willingness to travel within Colorado as needed

A growing Colorado-based law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a small, collaborative law firm specializing in water rights, environmental, and natural resources litigation in Colorado. This role will focus on handling litigation matters, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and participating in trials, hearings, and administrative proceedings. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of litigation experience, a strong interest or background in water law, and the ability to work independently in a small firm environment. This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated attorney to gain hands-on experience and contribute to complex cases across Colorado.
Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 / year DOE
