ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ship Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic inventory team. The primary focus of this role is efficient management and response to non-revenue guest inquiries, along with assisting in trip-related queries. Direct communication with guests via phone and email is a key aspect of this position.

The Specialist's core responsibility is centered around non-revenue bookings, including VODs, employee vacations, VIP reservations for board members and others, Grosvenor fellows, and non-field staff department bookings. The ideal candidate excels in communication, possesses exceptional attention to detail, and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of these bookings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Non-Revenue Bookings: Manage all non-revenue bookings from creation to sailing, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Guest Communication: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and delivering comprehensive information about products, services, and promotions.
  • Effective Inquiry Handling: Respond adeptly to guest-related inquiries, sharing pertinent product/service details and links as necessary.
  • Professional Communication: Craft clear, concise, and grammatically accurate responses, maintaining a professional and friendly tone across all interactions.
  • Email Management: Ensure accurate categorization, tagging, and association of emails with relevant customer records in Salesforce for streamlined tracking.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues, share valuable feedback, and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.
  • Multichannel Interaction: Handle all non-revenue guest interactions via phone calls or email, delivering consistently high levels of service.
  • Brand Representation: Uphold company values and brand image throughout all customer interactions, reinforcing a positive guest experience.
  • Timely Responses: Ensure timely and accurate responses throughout the booking lifecycle, maintaining guest satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively contributes to the refinement of processes and strategies to optimize non-revenue booking management and guest interactions.
  • Occasionally assist with Inventory functions and workload.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent industry experience
  • Basic knowledge of Geography
  • Knowledge of Seaware Reservation System

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Travel industry experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with Lindblad

    Using the English language, this person must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos.   Must also possess the ability to effectively communicate--both in writing and orally--with a professional demeanor. 
     
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee will also be required to write and type.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  

    COMPENSATION STATEMENT
    Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

    For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
