Job description

Harris Health Alliance, a Harris Computer company, are recruiting for a Vice President of Research & Development on a permanent, remote-working basis.

As a Vice President, Research & Development, you will require a blend of management and project management skills, product vision, financial savvy, and superior communication skills. The successful incumbent will manage and inspire a team and hold P&L responsibility and forecasting for their team.

The Position

In performing this role, your core duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading and managing a team of R&D managers, team leads, and professionals
  • Leading the financial operations of the department, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring a positive return on investment
  • Defining R&D strategies, goals, and objectives to align with business priorities and drive innovation in software development
  • Collaborating with the executive team to identify market opportunities, explore new technologies, and develop innovative product roadmaps
  • Translating business goals & product requirements into actionable development plans
  • Managing strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers
  • Performing a full range of leadership responsibilities

What we are looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of management experience within the software industry
  • Proficiency in operational and financial aspects of a software company
  • Knowledge of general business financial principals
  • Experience managing multiple teams of engineers and other business professionals
  • An excellent team player able to manage and prioritize work for self and staff
