Role Overview:

Ensure sustainment of the Continuous Improvement (CI) Management System in each business unit/function:

• Deepen the adoption of Continuous Improvement principles, systems, and tools through coaching, ensuring individuals in the business area have the necessary training and skills, as well as reinforcing behaviors with business leaders.
• Support post-implementation Sustainability through a variety of activities you are accountable for, including CI assessments, corrective action planning, and improvement execution until process changes are fully implemented and embedded in BU activities and behaviors.
• Drive balanced scorecard performance against targets (e.g., quarterly, annually), including delivery of value creation and value capture initiatives (e.g., capacity improvements driving towards overall value capture target) in partnership with BU leaders and Finance.
• Continue to build individual competencies in CI tools and behaviors, consistently pushing the thinking and driving improved ways-of-working.  Participate in the CI community of practice to both build CI competencies and to share and learn from other CI leaders (within and outside NYL).

What You’ll Do:

The Business Unit Sustainability Leader supports the Business Unit or Function in the continued implementation of Continuous Improvement and is responsible for co-developing a series of 100-day plans and supporting plan execution to extend performance improvement beyond initial implementation. This is done through coaching tier 1-3 leaders on the usage and refinement of CI principles, systems, and tools; helping train new employees in Continuous Improvement ways of working; ensuring the business conducts regular problem-solving sessions with clear priorities, actions, owners, and timely solutions; and helping refine standard work as process changes are made and put in place in order to help meet value capture and performance objectives.
Deepen the adoption of Continuous Improvement principles, systems, and tools through coaching, ensuring individuals in the business area have the necessary training and skills, as well as reinforcing behaviors with business leaders.
• Work closely and with tier 1, tier 2, tier 3 leaders to coach them on their engagement with and usage of CI principles, systems (i.e., leading and developing people, meeting customer demand, and raising and solving problems), and tools.
• Build Continuous Improvement competencies of business leaders, ensuring business leaders embed CI within the DNA of their business area’s culture.
• Identify and improve system-level issues with BU leaders to ensure new process adoption and efficient execution.
• Work with COE (Head of Academy & Methodology) to identify host training workshops with BU teams to bridge skill gaps and develop a culture of continuous learning.
• Support project budgeting and facilitate special skill acquisition needed for improvements.

What you'll bring:

• Previous participation as a Change Agent in a prior deployment is highly preferred.
• Strong relationships with BU leaders and front-line colleagues.
• Demonstrated track record in managing and influencing people to drive improvement in the business.
• Team leadership experience preferred.
