Job description

The Program Manager has a strategic role in developing, delivering, and supporting projects for Trew’s key customers. In addition to the role and responsibilities of the Project Manager, the Program Manager is driving consistency, efficiency, and growth across similar projects for targeted customer(s) and account(s).

The Program Manager is accountable for all contractual obligations and expectations related to scope, schedule, and budget are met and executed to schedule.

Communicating expectations and status on a project – and program level are key to this role. Program Managers must be self-motivated and have a strong sense of urgency. They must also have strong technical and team leadership skills as well as solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills. It is important to have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of expertise.

They manage both customer and in-house development projects. Works closely with the Customer, Account Managers, Engineers, and Installation.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend, capture and follow up on action items from turn-over project meetings for new projects
  • Conduct internal – and customer project kick-off meeting
  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Create and maintain planning documents such as Manufacturing Schedule Reservations (MSR), invoice schedules, engineering releases, etc.
  • Manage customer deliverables, communication, and relationships
  • Review, track and deliver completion of project contract requirements
  • Communicate project and program status, actions, risks, etc. to internal – and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with sourcing, engineering, installation, and others to manage suppliers
  • Forecast, plan, and track project and program finances against as-sold budget
  • Manage project and program change control to document variance to scope, schedule, or budget compared to as-sold
  • Customer and vendor site visits to coordinate activities, track progress and provide directions
  • Manage software development plans, releases, and test plans
  • Review commissioning check lists and test plans for completeness
  • Develop and maintain Program Playbooks
  • Account and business development
  • Contribute to and participate in account performance reviews
  • Develop scope of work definition and schedule for new projects and programs

Required Skills/ Abilities

  • Experience with subcontract language and project cost accounting
  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERP system
  • Electrical and Mechanical Installation
  • Familiar with computer software, hardware, communication networking
  • Auto-CAD and Auto-CAD electrical

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, Engineering, Management, or similar discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in project management
  • Experienced in Material Handling
  • Experience with PLC/Controls solution implementation
  • Experience with software project development, testing and implementation
  • PMP certification is a plus

Work Environment

This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility, customer – and construction sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues. Office environment with face-to-face and virtual team interaction

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
