Job description

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Key Account Executive located in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland or Delaware area. The Key Account Executive will be responsible for developing customer relationships with ABSCO Mid Atlantic (Acme / Safeway) as well as some smaller regional customers, with the primary purpose of driving sustainable top- and bottom-line growth.

Key Account Executive, ABSCO

  • In Person, Phone, email and virtual/Microsoft Teams outreach to assigned customers to develop relationships with existing customers to drive top/bottom line growth.
  • Prepare selling materials and utilize tools (i.e., syndicated data, PowerBI, etc.) to develop fact-based presentations that will result in KPI achievement - i.e., distribution growth, price realization - leading to sales and share growth.
  • Leverage fact-based selling tools and technology according to Utz’s channel-specific merchandising, assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to develop and prioritize assigned accounts.
  • Effectively communicate pricing and promotional programs to both the customer and company stakeholders.
  • Proactively track sales results, identify opportunities, and close gaps across customer base.
  • Must be knowledgeable of relevant market and industry trends, competitors, and customer and channel strategies across Direct-Store-Delivery (DSD) route-to-market and be able to build and deliver annual plans.
  • Work in conjunction with operations, supply chain, demand planning, and fulfillment to ensure proper customer sales service, and delivery excellence.
  • Ability to network and wire in to senior decision makers at assigned customers to build Joint Business Plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience calling on large grocery retailers required.
  • Experience calling on Safeway / Acme or other ABSCO divisions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook required
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid environment
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow and help improve current processes and procedures
  • Cross-functional collaboration, solution-oriented attitude, and a willingness to invest time in self-development are qualities that are critical to success in this role
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sales, marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
