Professional Development Specialist

Role Description: As a Professional Development Specialist at MagicSchool, you’ll empower educators to confidently use AI in their classrooms through engaging onsite and virtual trainings. You’ll create impactful learning content and build trusted relationships with schools and districts. This highly collaborative, educator-facing role includes frequent (50-75%) travel and close work with Customer Success, Sales, and other teams to deliver high-impact professional development.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for driving to the following outcomes:

  • Deliver onsite and virtual trainings based on customer needs.

  • Develop and maintain content to support training delivery, including course materials and asynchronous video modules.

  • Follow up with customers post-training to monitor progress and ensure successful implementation.

  • Collaborate closely with MagicSchool teams, including Customer Success and Sales, to understand and meet customer needs.

  • Create engaging, high-impact presentations to support training sessions.

  • Identify opportunities for additional training or support based on feedback and usage data.

Experience & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring the following experience and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in education, instructional coaching, or EdTech training

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with a background in leading professional development

  • Experience supporting the implementation of technology-based learning tools in schools or districts

  • Familiarity with instructional technology and the application of AI in education

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and support educators through technology adoption

  • Proficiency in web conferencing tools and platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and digital productivity tools (e.g., Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Direct classroom teaching experience

  • Experience in educator engagement, training, or customer success roles

  • Demonstrated ability to design and iterate on professional development programs using participant feedback and data

  • Experience working cross-functionally to align training with customer needs and business goals

Travel Expectations

A passion for travel is essential. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable spending significant time in schools and districts conducting in-person trainings. This includes both local, same-day trips by car and longer-distance travel requiring air travel and overnight stays. Travel demands will vary, with up to 75% travel during peak seasons and up to 50% throughout the rest of the year.
