Virtual Rockstar is hiring on behalf of a respected physical therapy practice based in North Carolina. This growing clinic is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to support their team with essential front-end insurance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance coverage accurately and efficiently.

  • Obtain pre-authorizations for therapy procedures as needed.

  • Update patient files and records with up-to-date insurance and authorization details.

  • Liaise with insurance providers to confirm coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements.

  • Communicate insurance out-of-pocket estimates and benefit changes with the clinic team.

  • Collaborate with the team to track and report payer trends or changes in policy coverage.

  • Assist patients with questions related to insurance and authorizations.

  • Prompt (Practice Management Software)

  • Slack (Team Communication)

  • Weave (Phone, Fax, and Text Messaging)

  • Dropbox (Shared Document Storage)



Requirements
  • Experience in insurance verification and authorization coordination, preferably in a physical therapy or medical setting.

  • Strong knowledge of insurance terminology and benefits structure (e.g., deductibles, co-pays, OOP max).

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple verifications daily, and respond quickly to changing requirements.

  • Comfortable working remotely while staying highly responsive and engaged with the team.

  • A proactive mindset that contributes to team collaboration and shared knowledge on payer updates.
