Job description

BASIC PURPOSE:                             Serve as a trusted business partner and coach to leaders in the organization, providing partnering, leadership and counsel. A strong understanding of the business objectives which will translate global business strategies into people goals and partner on the execution  in close partnership with the broader HR team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides advice and counsel on complex HR issues such as organizational design and review, change management initiatives, strategic workforce planning, and day-to-day guidance and support to management regarding HR practices and policies, working closely with our HR partners and COE’s to drive consistency and execution. Support and collaborate on employee relations issues to ensure legal compliance and maintain a respectful working environment for the client group. Coach and develop managers and key talents, drive development initiatives and succession planning to ensure longer term success Consult and coach business leaders on organizational change management and employee issues. Champion employee engagement through effective communication, programs, and alignment to development and growth opportunities. Facilitate and drive key talent development plans to strengthen the talent pipeline for all critical positions including stretched assignments, coaching or mentoring programs, professional & leadership training to retain and develop talent Act as a coach and be a facilitator when needed. Provide a problem-solving approach to business partnership, open to inputs and ideas while capable of pushing back where needed and executing once a decision has been made. Proactively assess team, manager, organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions. Ability to identify areas where decision making may be improved using data, as well as comfort using dashboards to identify issues and track progress. Partner with and provides input to COE’s in communication of related programs to staff. Assess the impact of business decisions on the workforce and provides solutions to optimize opportunities and mitigate any downsides. Builds trust and credibility with others by following through on commitments, establishing positive relationships and being a champion for organizational values. Keeps current on marketplace and functional trends and identifies opportunities to translate these into value for the organization. Makes development of self and others a priority. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

Education:

  • BS/BA degree preferably in business administration with major concentration in Human Resources or related field of study or equivalent experience . PHR or SPHR certification preferred.  

Experience:

5-7 or more years in Human Resource generalist functions with demonstrated experience in HR COE or operational roles. Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to influence and mediate conflict. Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and confidentiality in all matters. Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills. Strong talent assessment skills with the ability to identify leadership potential in candidates. Developed analytic/problem solving skills; translating strategy into results. Advanced MS Office skills HRIS systems required. Experience working with both HR and Business leaders to understand big picture issues, weigh organizational impact as well as crafting solutions. Strong collaboration skills, a proven team player who values a diverse and inclusive approach to finding a win-win solutions in matrix organizations Provide a problem-solving approach to business partnership, open to inputs and ideas while capable of pushing back where needed and executing once a decision has been made. Ability to embrace ambiguity, act as a role model and change agent, while helping to drive organizational change. Strong track record of getting things done through others, informal networks/channels and working across boundaries to break down silos and fully leverage partners throughout the HR delivery model. Strong project management skills with an ability to contribute to and implement creative HR solutions that drive business results.
