Overview
We are seeking a partime multimedia Graphic Designer for a part-time contract position with the potential to extend. This role will be around 20 hours a week. Candidates can be remote but local to Austin is preferred. This role is focused on creative execution, specifically print and digital design, with light project management responsibilities. You’ll work closely with our marketing team to bring a diverse portfolio of campaigns and programs to life across a wide range of mediums.
Job Functions
Design creative assets for internal marketing needs, including but not limited to:
Fundraising campaigns
Events and sponsorship opportunities
Indoor and Outdoor Signage
Swag/Promotional Items
Follow project briefs and creative direction provided by the marketing team
Participate in project kickoff meetings when needed
Proofread and perform basic press checks on creative assets (when appropriate)
Work within existing brand guidelines and design templates
Our Ideal Candidate Is
A self-starter with strong attention to detail
Able to accurately estimate project timelines and manage own workload
Comfortable asking for clarification or additional information when needed
Has strong organizational skills
Able to show iterations and milestones for each project
Comfortable with both long-term and quick-turn assignments
Skill & Experience
2–3 years of experience as a graphic designer
Proven experience with print and digital design
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Experience designing in Canva is a plus
Strong portfolio that demonstrates adaptability and professional polish
Ability to take initiative and manage creative timelines independently
Comfortable working within existing files and design systems
Basic familiarity with project management software such as Monday.com or Asana
Previous freelance/contract experience is highly valued
Team Collaboration + Internal Processes:
This position will be integrated into the marketing team; they will not communicate with any other departments within the organization
Project intake and delegation will follow a consistent process: a single point of contact will be given for each project, along with a creative brief and outlined cadence of check-ins
If possible, we would request ownership of all project files (RAW and final) by the organization, to be delivered at completion of contract
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35-39/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
