Summary 

Our marketing team is growing and we're searching for a sharp, curious and culturally connected Associate Director of Brand Content & Partnerships to help us shape and scale the GeneDx brand through powerful, insight-led storytelling and brand partnerships.

Reporting to, and working alongside our Sr. Director, Brand and Creative - and overseeing our Social Media Strategist - you’ll be instrumental in building awareness and perception of, and building love for, GeneDx by crafting and executing integrated content strategies that stretch across owned, earned and paid channels. You’ll lead the charge on executing brand storytelling making sure every piece of content reflects who we are and what we stand for.

You’ll also oversee our brand partnerships strategy, including influencer marketing, brand collaborations, and patient story development, ensuring every partnership reflects our brand and resonates emotionally.

You’ll be a key partner to creative, product and segment marketing and external agencies, owning projects end-to-end and driving creative work that builds emotional connection with our audience ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build & drive our content ecosystem. Develop and manage a cohesive, insight-led content strategy that maps to our brand positioning and spans channels including web, social, email and more.
  • Tell the GeneDx story. Craft compelling stories and content ideas that tell the full GeneDx story - from brand-level campaigns to patient features to behind-the-scenes stories that humanize what we do and connect with culture.
  • Own brand-level content planning. Maintain and manage the content calendar across key brand themes and channels, ensuring alignment with product launches, PR, partnerships, and seasonal opportunities where needed.
  • Lead cross-functional content projects. Serve as the central lead on integrated storytelling efforts that live across multiple channels — writing briefs, managing timelines, and bringing teams together to bring stories to life.
  • Manage content production . Translate brand strategy into actionable, inspiring creative briefs for internal teams and agency partners, and guide execution to ensure creative stays on-brand and on-message. When needed, you’ll attend and/or participate in execution of content, attending shoots, selecting talent, etc. to ensure vision is met.
  • Partner on brand campaigns. Support brand awareness campaigns from a content strategy and execution standpoint, collaborating with creative and media teams to build cohesive narratives.
  • Oversee influencer and ambassador storytelling. Manage influencer partnerships and real patient stories, ensuring tone and narrative align with our brand values and messaging.
  • Brand partnership management. Manage strategic brand collaborations — from setting the vision to ensuring the plan and execution are aligned with our brand and goals.
  • Measure and report on what matters: Define clear KPIs for key projects and content, track performance, and share insights that help us optimize and grow.
  • Create, don’t just delegate. Whether writing, editing, or jumping into Canva, you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves to help get the work done.
  • Oversee social media team. Manage and mentor our Social Media Strategist while leading the development of our social strategy, ensuring our channels and content are consistent, engaging, and on-brand.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • You bring 8+ years of experience in brand marketing and content strategy - ideally with a blend of in-house and agency background - with a strong understanding of how to build awareness and shape perception through storytelling.
  • You’re a natural storyteller - able to take abstract ideas and turn them into emotionally resonant narratives that connect with culture and people.
  • You know what content breaks through, and have a sharp eye for what performs across channels.
  • You’ve led integrated content strategies from start to finish - from planning and ideation to production and distribution - and know how to adapt them across owned, earned, and paid channels.
  • You’ve managed cross-functional, segment-agnostic initiatives, leading projects across creative, product, marketing, and external partners.
  • You’ve overseen or directly managed influencer marketing, ambassador storytelling and brand partnerships and have examples of how you’ve tracked performance of these programs.
  • You understand how organic and paid social work together, have a deep understanding of the role of organic social in the marketing mix, and experience driving engagement and reach.
  • You’re experienced in writing strong, clear creative briefs, collaborating with designers and writers, and keeping creative work aligned with strategy and brand voice.
  • You’ve worked across all formats and mediums - including video, digital, social, print, web, conferences, and sales enablement materials.
  • You’re familiar with content production and can comfortably manage timelines, reviews, and partners - bonus if you’ve got hands-on skills in Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
  • You’re plugged into culture - you know what’s trending, what’s relevant, and how brands can break through the noise and resonate.
  • You’re a team player with high EQ, known for building strong relationships, collaborating across functions, and showing up with curiosity, clarity, and kindness.
  • You thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and are able to juggle multiple priorities with calm, clarity, and a solutions-first mindset - you can create clarity out of ambiguity and make quick pivots as needed.
