Job description

Viridian Staffing's Client is looking for a Head of Sales to sell hardware technology to Cannabis producers, processors, retailers, and testing facilities.  This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. 

 

Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing (www.viridianstaffing.com) has led the way in placing top talent as the Original staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.

 

It will be your responsible to generate leads, following up on existing leads and meet sales goals. You will have the opportunity to give product presentations and demonstrations, as well as negotiating pricing and payment contracts with potential clients.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and dynamics, be able to understand and explain how our Client’s technology works and also have superb interpersonal skills.  Extensive travel will be required, and you must feel comfortable visiting cannabis dispensaries, grow houses, extract & edible processors, as well as laboratories.  An understanding, awareness and acceptance of the cannabis culture is imperative to succeeding in this role.  You must feel comfortable handling both cannabis flower & concentrates, as well as being around people who partake in cannabis.  Previous experience selling technical devices, products or services in to the cannabis industry is an advantage, but experience selling in the Cannabis industry is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Closing Business
  • Generating leads & following up on any leads provided to them.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
  • Helping determine forecasts, pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports as requested.
  • Giving sales presentations & demonstrations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Understanding and promoting company programs.
  • Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients
  • Preparing quotes and submitting sales contracts for orders.
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintaining client records.
  • Attending trade shows & sales meeting upon request
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices and availability.
  • Troubleshooting technical problems on site and over the phone

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or related field.
  • Experience in sales at start-up company
  • Ability to ramp up on technology products quickly
  • Extensive experience with CRM products like Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.
  • Understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be a self-starter, resourceful and “out of the box” thinker
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast paced environment.
  • A team player who can communicate and interact professionally with the other members of the sales, marketing and science teams

 

Compensation:  $80,000-$150,000/year
