💡About the role:

We’re looking for a Freelance Accounting Advisor to support the development of new services for Autónomos with employees and Sociedades Limitadas (SLs) in Spain.

This is not a client-facing role - instead, you’ll act as a consultant, working alongside our product and operations teams to ensure that our platform aligns with Spanish accounting and tax regulations. Your expertise will help us shape and validate financial processes, from invoicing rules to tax reporting obligations. You’ll also contribute to testing the platform and ensuring compliance throughout the user journey.

✍️ As a Freelance Accounting Advisor at Xolo, you’ll: 

• Provide guidance on accounting rules for Autónomos with employees and Sociedades
  Limitadas, ensuring that Xolo’s software aligns with Spanish regulations and business
  practices. This includes:
• (De) Registrations and detailed mapping
  
• Types of invoicing (e.g. with/without VAT, intra-EU, reverse charge, etc.)
  
• Deductible expenses and criteria depending on activity and entity type
• Relevant tax forms (models), including detailed mapping to specific reporting fields and boxes (casillas)
• Special regimes, such as modules (estimación objetiva), and withholding obligations when applicable
  
• Identify possible add-ons
• Accounting books, including detailed mapping
  
• Participate in testing and validation phases to ensure that all accounting, reporting, and tax features work correctly and comply with Spanish legal requirements, including quarterly and annual reporting logic.
  

🔎 You are the one we are looking for if you have:

• Extensive knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax regulations for Autónomos and Sociedades Limitadas
• Experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax filings (modelos), and compliance reporting
• Understanding of special tax regimes, deductible expenses, and VAT rules, including intra-EU transactions and reverse charge mechanisms
• Familiarity with accounting software and ability to map financial data to reporting requirements
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate tax calculations and compliance
• Ability to work independently as a freelancer and collaborate with a remote team
• Previous experience with accounting advisory, tax consulting, or financial compliance in Spain.
