Overview of the Role:

The Director, Strategic Solutioning is a key leader within Pelago’s commercial organization, bridging technical expertise with strategic sales execution. This role ensures our solutions are clearly articulated, compellingly positioned, and seamlessly integrated into client needs. By driving strategic storytelling, delivering tailored demonstrations, and leading technical consultations, this individual directly influences Pelago’s ability to secure and expand partnerships.

In close collaboration with sales, client success, and product teams, this leader will play a pivotal role in accelerating deal progression, supporting RFP/RFI processes, and ensuring a seamless transition from sales to implementation. Their deep knowledge of Pelago’s clinical and technical capabilities will shape how prospects and clients understand and adopt our solutions.

This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.

In this role you will…

This role is crucial in translating our mission into meaningful solutions for employers and health plans, helping organizations understand and adopt our services to drive better health outcomes, with responsibilities including:

Sales Support & Consultations:

  • Equip sellers with assets needed to move deals through mid-funnel, focused on those >50k lives, including partner specific materials, business case templates, RFP resources, etc.
  • Partner with sales reps to deliver customer-facing consultation, ensuring solutions are aligned with client needs and objectives.
  • Offer deep technical expertise throughout the sales cycle—from discovery to negotiation—addressing all client requirements with precision.
  • Develop and deliver tailored product demonstrations that highlight key differentiators and address specific pain points identified in the sales process.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for sales teams, guiding them through complex technical and clinical challenges faced by prospects.
  • Collaborate with Health Plans and Channel Partners to streamline and accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Support complex deals and onboarding by ensuring seamless transitions from sales to implementation, maintaining alignment with customer expectations and requirements.

RFP/RFI Support:

  • Lead the development of detailed, customized responses to RFPs and RFIs, collaborating with internal teams to ensure high-quality, comprehensive proposals.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date RFP database to improve efficiency and streamline content reuse across multiple opportunities.

Solution Development and Improvement:

  • Continuously deepen your technical and clinical understanding of Pelago's products to maintain subject matter expertise.
  • Collaborate with product teams to align demos, scripts, and technical presentations with evolving product enhancements.
  • Ensure demo environments accurately reflect Pelago’s latest capabilities and market positioning.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, providing feedback to Leadership and Marketing teams from prospects and clients on product market fit, market needs and messaging.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Strengthen collaboration between sellers, implementation, and customer success to optimize deal progression, client onboarding, and long-term customer retention.
  • Work closely with marketing, legal, and subject matter experts to refine  sales presentations, proposals, and supporting collateral.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to marketing and revenue operations teams to ensure alignment between customer-facing materials and sales strategies.
  • Contribute technical insights to the product development team based on customer feedback and market needs.

Industry and Competitor Expertise:

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the wellness digital health space, with a specific focus on substance use disorder markets; Stay updated on market trends and competitor offerings to ensure Pelago’s solutions are competitively positioned.
  • Train revenue teams on competitive intelligence and support additional cross-functional projects to enhance operational efficiency and engagement across the customer journey.
The background we’re looking for…
  • 8+ years in a solutions architecture, solutions consulting, or strategic solutioning role, with direct experience in sales support within Health Plans and Employers.
  • Proven ability to translate complex clinical and technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both prospects and internal teams.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, marketing, legal, and other teams to align technical and sales efforts.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships, with the ability to prioritize internal and external needs effectively.
  • Highly organized with an exceptional eye for detail, with strong documentation skills to gain quick alignment on requirements.
  • Open-minded and inquisitive, always looking for ways to improve solutions and processes.
  • Can be located anywhere in the US, but ideally New York, NY vicinity.

The provided range reflects our US target salary range for this full-time position, which is part of our broader total compensation package, including incentive bonus program, stock options, comprehensive benefits, and incentive pay applicable to eligible roles. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.
