Job Description Summary

The Vice President of Sales for the Grocery Channel will be responsible for accelerating growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive profitable growth for the GoGo squeeZ business within the grocery channel. This leadership position requires a seasoned sales professional who is skilled at collaborating cross-functionally, building and managing high-performing sales teams, delivering on critical KPIs and creating and elevating strong strategic relationships with retail partners. In addition, as an influential leader in the organization, this person will be tasked with creating the strategic vision for the grocery channel while bringing the organization, team and broker partners along on the execution of the strategy.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy:
    • Develop and implement grocery channel strategy and retailer specific sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, drive share growth and deliver against long term vision
  • Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, motivate, and develop the grocery sales team to ensure peak performance including development.
  • Retailer Partnerships and Growth
    • Establish and strengthen strategic relationships with key grocery retailers to drive mutually profitable business growth.
  • Market Insights and Category Influence
    • Understand and analyze market trends such as share, POS data, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for growth and or to mitigate risks by influencing plans and go to market strategies
  • Sales Planning, Forecasting & Trade Management
    • Demonstrate strong command and control of business fundamentals including overseeing sales planning activities, trade management, and executional excellence
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with sales strategy, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of goals and seamless execution of sales plans.
  • Budget Management:
    • Leverage strong financial acumen in pricing/promotional strategies to manage and maximize sales budgets to ensure profitable growth of the grocery channel.

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 12 years of sales experience including directly managing major grocery retailers, broker management, at least 5 years of people leadership, internal sales strategy/customer marketing required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and leading a successful sales team.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute and deliver results.
  • Familiarity with market analysis, sales forecasting, and budget management.
  • Strong understanding of grocery retail environment and retailer strategies
  • Successful at building strategic retailer relationships
  • Operates with a high level of integrity and models excellence
  • Proven analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Utilizes exceptional presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a high level of enthusiasm for the business and its growth
  • Is a self-starter who can thrive without extensive supervision
  • Strong communicator – written and verbally – and build relationships quickly and easily.

Working Conditions

Work is performed largely in a field environment. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Up to 50% business travel may be required.

Total Rewards

  • Base Salary: $265,000 – 280,000
  • Bonus Opportunity: 30%
