JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • As part of our client’s strategic expansion, they are developing a dedicated Fire & Security division and are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth in this area.
  • This is a pure business development role, ideal for a seasoned Fire & Security professional who thrives on winning new business, building client relationships, and securing high-value contracts.
  • As a Business Development Manager – Fire & Security, you will be responsible for expanding the company’s client base, identifying new opportunities, and positioning the company as a key player in the fire protection and security solutions sector.
  • This role requires a self-starter with deep industry expertise, who understands the commercial, compliance, and technical aspects of fire and security systems.

 

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:


New Business Development
  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across the commercial, industrial, and public sectors.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to establish and grow our Fire & Security service offerings.
  • Actively pursue leads, conduct cold outreach, and leverage your existing industry network to generate new revenue.
  • Build and nurture relationships with facility managers, contractors, developers, and key decision-makers.

 Sales & Client Engagement

  • Promote and sell a full range of Fire & Security solutions, including:
  • Fire detection and alarm systems
  • CCTV & access control
  • Emergency lighting
  • Intruder alarms & monitoring
  • Fire suppression & safety compliance
  • Conduct client meetings, site surveys, and technical consultations to understand client needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Develop proposals, submit tenders, and lead contract negotiations to secure profitable deals.

 Market Positioning & Industry Leadership

  • Stay informed on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry forums to enhance our brand visibility.
  • Work closely with the internal team to refine service offerings, pricing models, and market positioning.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:


Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven track record in business development within the Fire & Security industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire protection, life safety, and security systems.
  • Understanding of BS 5839, BS 5266, EN 54, and UK Fire & Security regulations.
  • Experience working with contractors, facilities management companies, and commercial property clients.
  • Established industry contacts and a strong network of decision-makers and influencers.

 Skills & Attributes

  • Hunter mentality – confident in generating and converting leads into high-value contracts.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote role, managing your own sales pipeline.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with experience in pricing and contract management.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and proactive in identifying and securing new business.

  • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission (high earnings potential).

Salary:

55k to 65k GBP per Year with OTE 100k GBP
