The Equipment Commodity Management Team is responsible for defining and executing sourcing strategies for high value lab and manufacturing equipment, and equipment components used to support Seagate’s global factories and design centers. We are a global team, with commodity managers throughout the world.
About the role - you will:
- Be responsible for the sourcing and acquisition of equipment and equipment components such as printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and automation components for teams located at Seagate’s US Operations and Development sites.
- Work cross functionally with Seagate teams and suppliers throughout the US, Europe and Asia on solutions that support Seagate’s roadmap and production requirements.
- Participate in competitive analysis to identify best in class suppliers.
- Create contracts, negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers.
- Monitor cost, schedule, and performance aspects of major contracts to ensure best in class performance through frequent supplier interactions and business reviews.
- Provide project management and analytics support for Equipment Commodity Management Team
About you:
- Enjoy working both independently and within teams.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Develop and give presentations to all levels of management (including executive) to communicate and gain support for sourcing decisions and/or strategies.
- Experience in supply chain, commodity management, or purchasing along with Data Analytics to improve sourcing strategies and business processes.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Python, Tableau, or Power BI
- Able to work flexible hours when needed to meet with international teams.
Your experience includes:
- Commodity Management or Supply Chain, or Industrial /Operations Engineering background
- Work with internal teams, as well as external suppliers and/or customers
- Experience with negotiation and conflict management
You might also have:
- Understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes, automation
- Experience utilizing e-Source or web-based purchasing applications.
- Knowledge of analytics tools such as Knime, R, Python, Tableau
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field (i.e., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer Engineering, Materials, Industrial, Operations, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Business Management or Supply Chain) and 5+ years of experience or master’s degree in the same and 3+ years’ experience or PhD and 0+ years’ experience or equivalent experience and education.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,761.00 - $91,998.00. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
