About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to join the Editor Experience & Engagement Team on a fixed-term contract basis. External editors play a pivotal role in steering the strategic direction of journals. Our job is to ensure our external editors and the colleagues and teams interacting with them have the information, support and guidance they need to effectively execute their roles, so our journals thrive and succeed.

As part of the Editor Engagement Team, you will join a group of future focused colleagues using data, marketing and editorial insights to support the wider Publishing Development Team to drive editor behaviors and outcomes that align with our strategic priorities; and lead the development of engagement initiatives that motivate and enable editors to serve their communities and participate in author-focused programs.

How you will make an impact:

  • Recognition and incentivisation: promote and develop a recognition strategy to incentivise and engage all editors.
  • Marketing channels: working with different teams, to communicate with editors in a timely and compelling manner: through newsletters, delivering email campaigns and online platforms.
  • Webinars and events: look at different ways to use editor events to create community opportunities such as virtual networking.
  • Engagement: collaborate to maximise engagement and impact of editor engagement channels.
  • Training: applies knowledge of research communities to develop editor training content.

What we look for:

  • Leverage publishing industry and marketing experience to support the Publishing Development Team drive editor performance, education and alignment.
  • Seeking 2-4 years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills to support the timely delivery of editor communications and events.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to translate strategic data for a range of audiences internally to support meaningful strategic decisions, as well as confidently lead meetings with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with editor facing colleagues across the business.
  • Analyze problems and identify gaps beyond the current role, working collaboratively to develop innovative solutions.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to undertake data analysis and campaign data.
