Position Overview: 

The Vice President of Sales will play a critical role in driving the wholesale strategy for JustFoodForDogs. This individual will be responsible for leading sales operations, managing key retail and distribution partnerships, and optimizing business development initiatives within the pet specialty, grocery, and mass retail channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales leadership, strategic planning, and team development, with a passion for driving growth in the pet food or consumer goods industry.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and strengthen retail and distribution partnerships.
  • Retail & Distribution Management: Build and maintain relationships with major pet retailers and distributors, ensuring long-term collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Business Development: Identify new retail and wholesale opportunities, lead negotiations, and oversee account management to drive business expansion.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team while fostering a results-driven culture.
  • Operational Execution: Oversee all aspects of wholesale operations, including new customer setup, promotional planning, and execution of retail business development initiatives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage sales analytics to forecast trends, identify market opportunities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams on product launches, brand positioning, and go-to-market strategies to ensure seamless execution.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating contracts and driving strategic partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Industry Expertise: Experience in pet food or consumer goods, with knowledge of pet specialty, grocery, and mass retail channels.
  • Proven Sales Leadership: A track record of success in sales management, including leading teams, developing strategies, and achieving growth targets.
  • Retail & Distribution Experience: Strong relationships and expertise in managing retail and wholesale accounts, including key national and regional partners.
  • Analytical & Strategic Mindset: Ability to analyze market trends, leverage data insights, and adapt strategies to drive business growth.
  • Exceptional Negotiation & Communication Skills: Proven success in high-stakes negotiations with retailers and distributors.
  • Entrepreneurial & Hands-On Approach: Ability to lead both high-level strategy and day-to-day business operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
