Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure NetAPP Cloud Architect for a one-year contract opportunity, fully remote, based in Raleigh, NC. This pivotal role will involve collaborating with the Infrastructure Section on various projects, providing expertise in Azure Cloud and NetAPP technologies to enhance operational efficiencies and support the Department of Environment Quality (DEQ).

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Department of Information and Technology and Microsoft Azure Support Teams to design and implement Azure configurations tailored to DEQ’s needs.
Set up and manage customer-owned environments, including image creation, VNet and VPN gateway configurations.
Develop Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) machines utilizing custom images to improve service delivery.
Implement Intune for effective management of VDI machines across different resource zones.
Document the DevOps environment and establish appropriate rights for access and operations.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions with team members to enhance overall team capabilities during downtime.

Required Skills

Extensive experience in Azure Cloud architecture, particularly in Custom Imaging and VDI/Hypervisor technologies.
Proficient in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and MDM management.
Strong knowledge of directory services, including Azure AD and AD.
Comprehensive understanding of firewall configurations, access groups, rules, ports, and inter-technological operations.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Azure Cloud Architecture, focusing on relevant technologies and methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise in Custom Imaging, VDI/Hypervisor, and Azure VPN gateways.
Solid background in MDM management, VNet, and Resource Groups.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager / SCCM and firewall management.

Compensation And Benefits

Competitive compensation at a W-2 rate of up to $65/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
